Pictory turns a blog post, a script, or a URL into a faceless explainer: stock visuals under an AI voice. Checked on 2026-10-17, the job is longer-form and marketing video. This check did not record an autopilot that writes a series, renders it, and posts it.
This is a selection note for narrated YouTube video sometimes recut for TikTok or YouTube Shorts. Figures come from pictory.ai/pricing. Anything the extract omitted is not observed.
Who it's for
Pictory fits writers, marketers, and educators who already have the words and do not want a face on camera. The observed input is a blog, a script, or a URL. The observed output is stock plus an AI voice. Starter lists 200 minutes a month, Professional 600, and Team 1,800. The page did not define a minute, so those numbers are capacity, not a promise of how many uploads the meter funds.
A set-and-forget Shorts channel is a weaker fit. That job is closer to Revid, Faceless.so, or AutoShorts, and auto-posting was not observed here. Generated shots belong on Kling, Runway, Luma, Pika, Seedance, or Higgsfield. A presenter is HeyGen, a UGC-style product ad is Creatify, and a voice with no picture is ElevenLabs. Among text-to-video neighbors, Lumen5 is the blog-to-marketing peer, Fliki is voice-first Shorts with a real free tier, and InVideo is the prompt-and-timeline editor with Seedance on paid plans.
What it does
Words go in. Stock visuals and an AI voice come out as a faceless explainer. The site is pictory.ai. The editor was not opened on 2026-10-17, so scene controls, caption burn-in, brand kits, translation, music, and export resolution are not observed.
Trial terms showed up in three places the same day, and they are not one policy: the plan table (15 video minutes, 5-minute maximum, 3 videos, watermark), FAQ or help (14-day language), and a faceless product page (50 AI credits). Do not add the 50 credits to the 15 minutes. Paid length, watermark, resolution, and AI credits were not observed. A finished file can be uploaded by hand to YouTube, Shorts, or TikTok. A scheduler was not observed.
Pricing tiers
Verified on 2026-10-17 at pictory.ai/pricing.
Annual cards showed a per-month price and a struck previous price. Monthly cards showed that struck price as the live sticker. Enterprise was custom. No yearly dollar invoice was printed, so this page does not multiply the monthly equivalents by twelve. Minute pools on annual plans are the upfront year totals below. The minutes line shortens Professional to Pro.
| Plan | Monthly card | Annual display | Minutes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $29 | $25/mo (was $29) | 200/mo; 2,400 year total |
| Professional | $59 | $35/mo (was $59) | 600/mo; 7,200 year total |
| Team | $199 | $119/mo (was $199) | 1,800/mo; 21,600 year total |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | not observed |
Those year totals equal twelve times the monthly grant. Rollover and the day the annual pool unlocks were not observed.
| Source on 2026-10-17 | What it stated |
|---|---|
| Plan table, free trial | 15 video minutes, max 5 minutes, 3 videos, watermark |
| FAQ or help | 14-day trial language |
| Faceless product page | 50 AI credits on the trial |
The 5-minute cap was trial-only. Overage, top-ups, and a Team seat count were not observed, so Team is not written as a per-seat price. The only credit figure is the trial's 50. The API row had no yes or no per plan.
Pros
- A written draft becomes the first cut: blog, script, or URL to stock and an AI voice, without a generation studio.
- Both the monthly minute grants and the annual year totals are printed on the card.
- Struck annual prices match the monthly stickers in this extract, so the two views can be read together.
- The trial row names watermark, length, video count, and minutes. Enterprise stays custom.
Cons
- Trial copy disagrees in shape: a minute, length, and video cap on the plan table, and 14-day language in FAQ or help. Which one signup enforces was not observed.
- What a video minute measures was not observed, so 200 minutes is not yet a finished-runtime budget.
- Paid length, watermark, resolution, commercial terms, and rollover were not observed.
- The API row has no per-plan answer and no URL. MCP was not observed.
- Posting on a cadence was outside the job this pass recorded.
Usage flow
- Start from a URL, a blog, or a script. The product expects words that already exist.
- Keep the trial inside the plan-table gate: 15 video minutes, 3 videos, 5 minutes each, watermark. Leave the 50 AI credits and the 14-day line as separate notes until signup shows one rule.
- If stock or the bundled voice fails, keep the script. Move voice to ElevenLabs or shots to Kling, Runway, or Luma, then caption and reframe in CapCut.
Workflow usage
On faceless, Pictory assembles a longer explainer when stock and the bundled voice are enough. Shots that must be generated stay on Kling, Runway, or Seedance.
On long-to-short, Pictory was not observed as a clipper. Hooks, reframing, and burned captions finish in CapCut. A script written from the episode can still be narrated here.
On captions-cover, caption style, safe zones, and covers were not observed. On ai-avatar and ugc-ads, use HeyGen for a presenter and Creatify for a cast-led ad. A URL can enter Pictory only when the result should be a narrated explainer. An ad launcher was not observed.
On voice-publish, the meter buys a picture and a read together. For voice alone, use ElevenLabs.
Underlying models
No video model and no speech model was named on the pricing extract. The visual path is stock, so Pictory is not listed here as a host for Kling, Seedance, Runway Gen, Luma Ray, or Veo.
Speech is only "AI voice." Vendor, voice count, cloning, and languages were not observed. Pick the voice on the ElevenLabs card rather than guessing that these minutes resell a named model.
API and MCP
has_api is false. The comparison table had an API-access row, with no yes or no on Starter, Professional, Team, or Enterprise, and no base URL, auth scheme, or docs URL on 2026-10-17.
No official MCP URL was observed, so mcp.official is false. An API row is not a Model Context Protocol server. For code, use a printed endpoint: Runway, Kling, HeyGen, or ElevenLabs. In this batch, Revid described API, MCP, and a CLI on every plan, and Faceless.so described API and a hosted MCP on higher tiers.
Similar tools
- Lumen5 is the closest blog-to-marketing peer, with a free tier and yearly stickers on the same-day check.
- Fliki is voice-first Shorts. Free was 3 credits a month with a watermark. Its dollar stickers were not observed.
- InVideo is the timeline hybrid, with Seedance gated by plan.
- Revid, Faceless.so, and AutoShorts cover create-then-post cadence.
- CapCut finishes the cut. ElevenLabs replaces the read. Pika and Luma replace a failed stock shot.
FAQ
Is the annual price a single yearly invoice?
Annual display is $25, $35, and $119 per month. Monthly cards are $29, $59, and $199. A yearly dollar total was not observed. The 2,400 / 7,200 / 21,600 figures are minutes. Pay checkout.
What does the trial include?
Plan table: 15 video minutes, 5 minutes max, 3 videos, watermark. FAQ or help: 14-day language. Faceless product page: 50 AI credits. Paid plans did not reprint those caps.
How many videos do the minute grants buy?
The page never defined a video minute, and the only video count observed is the trial's 3. Splitting 200, 600, or 1,800 by an assumed length would invent a schedule.
Does Pictory have an API or an official MCP server?
An API-access row was present. The unlocking plan and any API URL were not observed, so has_api is false. No official MCP URL was observed.
Is Pictory a daily Shorts autopilot?
The checked job is one longer explainer from a blog, a script, or a URL. TikTok and Shorts are hand uploads after a separate cut. Cadence sits on Revid, Faceless.so, and AutoShorts.
