Seedance vs Kling
Seedance 2.5 is the longer fal clip and does not charge extra for audio on the US text card. Kling 3 is the explicit multi-shot schema and the official per-second unit table. The wallets do not match.
Seedance and Kling are both commercial video families with text-to-video, image-to-video, and native audio on the cards opened for this directory. They are not one subscription, and a credit on one host is not a second on the other. This compare uses the model pages Seedance and Kling, plus the product pages Seedance and Kling. Model pages and tool pages were checked on 2026-10-16. This article was assembled on 2026-10-17 and did not re-open fal, BytePlus, Kling's developer list, Dreamina, or the Kling membership URL.
The model pages previously noted that a /models/seedance-vs-kling URL was not published. This directory's comparison lives here, at the compare slug, and it still refuses to blend a fal second, a Runway credit, a Kling API unit, and a Dreamina plan into one "price per clip."
Who this is for
Read this if you generate shots for Shorts, TikTok, or a faceless YouTube cut and you are choosing a family, then a wallet.
Seedance fits a faceless channel that wants a cinematic clip up to 30 seconds on the Seedance 2.5 schemas opened on 2026-10-16, with 9:16 available on the fal US text-to-video card, and with audio priced the same as silence on that card. The consumer app in the English tool entry is Dreamina. CapCut is a second paid path, where Seedance is a credit spend inside an editor. Teams that only need an occasional cutaway should read the CapCut card before they buy Dreamina. The ladders are not the same product.
Kling fits a channel that wants Kuaishou's own unit table, a fal schema with an explicit multi-shot prompt list, and separate prices for silent video, native audio, voice control, motion control, and avatar. The membership is for a person who clicks Generate. The API is for a server. The membership page checked on 2026-10-16 advertised Kling 4.0. The API packages on the same day said they currently do not support Kling 4.0. That split is the first fact to keep.
Neither family is a stock presenter reading a product URL. That job is HeyGen or Creatify. Neither family is a caption timeline. Finish in CapCut. A controlled cloned voice, especially where Kling's fal card translates other languages to English, belongs on ElevenLabs.
Dimensions compared
What you are buying. Seedance is a ByteDance model family. Dreamina is the consumer app. CapCut is the editor that exposes Seedance on paid plans. fal, BytePlus ModelArk, Runway, and Higgsfield are other wallets. Kling is a Kuaishou family with two first-party prices that do not convert: web membership credits, and prepaid API units at a list price of $0.14. Runway, Higgsfield, fal, and Luma also resell Kling under their own meters. A Kling credit inside Higgsfield is not a Kling unit.
Duration on the opened schemas. Seedance 2.5 on fal's US text-to-video card, and on Higgsfield's 2.5 image-to-video schema, runs from 4 to 30 seconds, or
autoon the fal text card. Seedance 2.0 on fal text-to-video runs 4 to 15 seconds orauto. Kling 3 Pro on fal text-to-video uses a duration enum from"3"through"15", default"5". The Kling membership blurb describes Kling 4.0 as native 30-second generation. The model page did not adopt that 30-second claim as an API spec, because the developer pricing HTML saved on 2026-10-16 did not contain a 4.0 row. For a Shorts hook, both families can be asked for a short vertical clip. For a single request near half a minute, the opened 2.5 schema is the one that lists 30 seconds. A 60-second narration still needs an editor either way.Audio price. fal's Seedance 2.5 US text card says the cost is the same whether audio is generated or not.
generate_audiodefaults to true. Runway's Seedance 2.5 cells say reference images and reference audio are free, and they bill output seconds plus input-video seconds. A BytePlus audio upcharge was not in the inserts quoted on the model page. Kling charges the audio decision on the official 3.0 rows and on fal. Official Kling 3.0 at 1080p is 0.8 units ($0.112) per second with no native audio, and 1.2 units ($0.168) per second with native audio and no voice control. fal Kling 3 Pro text-to-video is $0.112 per second with audio off, $0.168 with audio on, and $0.196 with voice control. fal's own example: a 5-second video with audio on and voice control costs $0.98. The $0.168 match between fal's audio-on rate and the official 1080p audio cell is a coincidence to notice. fal's Pro schema has no resolution field, so the two $0.168 figures are not a contract that fal Pro equals official 1080p.Multi-shot. Safe for Seedance: the fal Seedance 2.0 text-to-video overview says "native audio, multi-shot editing." Not safe: claiming the Seedance 2.5 US text-to-video schema exposes per-shot prompts. That field was not on the schema.
multi_shoton the Seedance model page is true for the family because of the 2.0 claim, and a 2.5 multi-shot parameter is not observed on that US card. Safe for Kling: fal's 3 Pro text-to-video schema includesmulti_prompt, which overrides the single prompt, andshot_typeofcustomizeorintelligent. Provide prompt ormulti_prompt, not both. A maximum shot count was not stated. A marketing sentence that says "coherent multi-shot narrative" is not the control. If the edit depends on a list of shot prompts, the field that was actually in a 2026-10-16 schema is Kling's.Resolution, aspect, and 4K. Seedance 2.5 on the fal US text card lists 480p, 720p, and 1080p. 4K was not a field on that schema. Seedance 2.0 on fal adds 4K. Aspect on the 2.5 text card includes 9:16, 16:9, 1:1, and others. Higgsfield's Cinema Studio note sends edit and extend work to separate Seedance 2.5 endpoints. Those endpoints are not Cinema Studio. Kling's official unit table prices 720p, 1080p, and, on several 3.0 rows, 4K at 3.0 units ($0.42) per second. Turbo's 4K cell is not offered. fal Kling 3 Pro lists aspect
16:9,9:16, and1:1, and it does not list a resolution field. A vertical upcharge was not observed on either official-style table. 4K on a phone Short is usually wasted. The Kling model page treats 720p or 1080p as the practical Shorts band.Where the job can run, and which dollar is that host's. Seedance, all checked 2026-10-16 unless noted. fal US 2.5 text-to-video: roughly $0.5676 per second at 720p, $0.2646 per second at 480p, and roughly 1.396278 per second at 1080p, quoted as printed. fal omitted a currency sign on the 1080p figure. Token rates on that card are $0.02568 per 1,000 tokens at 480p and 720p, and $0.02808 per 1,000 tokens at 1080p. A 10-second 720p clip at the printed per-second figure is about $5.68. The card says "roughly," so the multiplication inherits the hedge. fal Seedance 2.0 text-to-video is $0.3034 per second at 720p and $0.682 per second at 1080p. Runway API credits are $0.01 each. Seedance 2.5 output rates are 20, 30, and 68 credits per output second at 480p, 720p, and 1080p, plus 10, 15, and 34 credits per second of input and reference video, with an 80-credit minimum. Derived output-only dollars are $0.20, $0.30, and $0.68 per second. Label them derived. They ignore the input-video adder. BytePlus prints resolution-linked numbers for
dreamina-seedance-2-5-260628whose unit was not in the parsed zone, plus example inserts of 0.514 per video and 0.103 per second, 1.156 per video and 0.231 per second, and 2.843 per video and 0.569 per second, without resolution labels in the same bullet. This page does not promote 10.70 into a dollar-per-second rate. Higgsfield's Seedance 2.5 image-to-video schema did not include a dollar price.Kling's two first-party ladders, plus hosts. Official API, 2026-10-16: 1 unit = $0.14. Kling 3.0 Turbo with native audio is 0.8 units ($0.112) per second at 720p and 1.0 unit ($0.14) per second at 1080p. A 5-second 1080p Turbo clip at that printed per-second figure is $0.70 if nothing else is added. Motion Control is 0.9 units ($0.126) per second at 720p and 1.2 units ($0.168) at 1080p. Avatar is 0.4 units ($0.056) per second at 720p and 0.8 units ($0.112) at 1080p. Packages are prepaid for 180 days, no rollover, 20 concurrency, and they do not support Kling 4.0. Larger packs discount the unit from $0.14 to $0.126. The model page's pass did not restate resource-pack dollars. The tool page did, from the same day's developer HTML. Use the tool page for Standard 1 at $700 for 5,000 units and the later discounted packs. Do not mix that pack table into fal's per-second price. Membership, from the tool page the same day: Standard $6.99 then $8.80 a month for 660 credits, Pro $25.99 then $32.56 for 3,000, Premier $64.99 then $80.96 for 8,000, Ultra $127.99 then $159.99 for 26,000. Basic is $0, and the comparison says Basic generated content is not for commercial use. The first-month stickers were a one-time discount with a countdown. Budget the renewal column. Yearly membership dollars were not observed. Web credits do not buy API units. Runway bills Kling in credits at $0.01:
kling3.0_standardis 9 credits per second without audio and 13 with audio. Derived dollars are $0.09 and $0.13. They are close to Kling's unit dollars and they are not the same invoice. Higgsfield's catalog includes many Kling 3 routes. The per-call dollar price was not in the schema extract.Consumer apps, commercial use, and API existence. Dreamina, checked 2026-10-16, showed a banner ending 23 October 2026. Basic is USD 1.50 then USD 15 a month for 1,575 credits. Standard is USD 22 then USD 36 for 3,885. Advanced is USD 95 then USD 159 for 17,600 on the selected step. Ultra is USD 312 then USD 520 for 59,000. The page's own 10-second estimates are 19, 48, 220, and 737 videos. The hero says 90 percent off the first month. Basic is labeled 90 percent off. The other three cards are labeled 40 percent off. A public Dreamina or Seedance HTTP API was not observed, so
has_apiis false on the tool. Commercial use "depends on the applicable Dreamina terms." CapCut's first-month Seedance 2.5 floor was from $0.12 a second on Pro, not Dreamina's "from $0.04/sec" banner. Kling's tool has an API. No official Kling MCP URL was observed. Paid Kling membership cards state commercial use. Free Basic does not transfer that grant backward.
Side-by-side notes
Take one Seedance route and price only that route. The fal US 2.5 text card is the schema most Shorts tests can read: 4 to 30 seconds, 480p to 1080p, 9:16 in the aspect enum, audio included in the same rough per-second figure, token formula (height * width * duration * 24) / 1024. The 1080p figure is high enough that a 10-second master is a different budget from a 720p draft. Teams that copy a 720p quote into a 1080p job will miss by a wide margin. The model page's rough 720p figure is $0.5676 per second. The rough 1080p figure was printed as 1.396278 per second. Runway is cheaper on the derived output-only 720p line, at 30 credits, or $0.30, and that sentence ignores input video and the 80-credit minimum. BytePlus is the official token surface and, on the pass that was saved, not an auditable per-second invoice, because the unit header was not in the zone. Dreamina is the official consumer wallet, with renewal prices that jump after the first month, and with an offer end date of 23 October 2026 printed on 16 October. This compare is dated 17 October 2026. It does not claim the banner is still up, and it does not claim the banner has expired. Re-open the card before you treat USD 1.50 as the price you will keep.
CapCut is the family member that looks like an alternative and is an editor. Pro's 1,200 monthly AI credits and the first-month Seedance lines were stable across a USD rendering and a CLP rendering on 2026-10-16. Ultra's Seedance 2.5 floor was from $0.18 a second in that first month. The renewal rate was not observed. If the only Seedance use is a cutaway inside a video you already shot, CapCut may be the smaller bill. Compare renewal prices, not first-month teasers, and do not paste Dreamina's $0.04 floor onto CapCut.
Take one Kling route the same way. A person clicking Generate should read the membership renewal: Standard $8.80, Pro $32.56, Premier $80.96, Ultra $159.99, as checked 2026-10-16, and should remember that the API key will not generate 4.0 on the packages that said they do not support it. A pipeline should price the flagship row, including audio, before it buys a 180-day pack that does not roll over. Ten seconds of Kling 3.0 Turbo at 1080p with native audio is 10 units on the list price, which is $1.40 before any pack discount. That is a planning example from the rate card, not a promise about rejected takes. fal is the schema for aspect, duration, and voice control, not the resolution decision. Official 4K at $0.42 a second is a different SKU from fal's $0.168. Avatar on Kling's card, at $0.056 a second in 720p, is a Kling avatar meter. It is not HeyGen's credit meter. See HeyGen Video when the rig is a photo presenter.
Hosts that sell both names are where people double-pay. Runway lists Gen-4.5, Kling, and Seedance on one developer guide. Gen-4.5 is 12 credits per second, about $0.12 derived, and it is Runway's own model. See Runway Gen. Seedance on Runway is a different row. Kling on Runway is the kling3.0_* rows. Higgsfield bills its own credits for Seedance and Kling. The pricing table checked 2026-10-16 included examples such as Seedance 2.0 at about 22 credits per 5 seconds at 720p, and Kling 3.0 at 720p at about 7 credits per 5 seconds. Those tildes are the vendor's estimates. They are not fal's dollars and not Kling's $0.14 unit. Unlimited Kling or Seedance on the Higgsfield website does not apply to MCP.
Speech is the quiet failure mode. Kling's fal card says Chinese and English voice output, and other languages are translated to English. A non-English faceless channel can cover the clip with ElevenLabs and use a no-audio Kling row. Seedance's fal US card did not document a separate Chinese language field in the pass that was read. A language list for Seedance speech was not observed. Native audio can still ship inside the file when generate_audio is true. Whether that speech is clean enough to publish alone was not measured.
Open weights were not on either set of pages. open_source is false for both. You cannot pin a local build to these model ids from the files this directory saved.
Verdict
Pick the family for the control you can point at in a schema, then pick the wallet that printed a unit you can audit. Seedance 2.5, on the cards opened 2026-10-16, is the longer single clip: 4 to 30 seconds against Kling 3 Pro's 3 to 15 seconds on fal. It is also the family whose fal US text card does not add a surcharge when audio is on. Kling is the family whose fal schema exposes multi_prompt, whose official table prices 4K at $0.42 a second on the rows that offer it, and whose first-party API exists as a unit you can multiply. Seedance's own consumer app did not show a public HTTP API on the same day. If a key is a requirement, Seedance moves to Runway, Higgsfield, fal, or BytePlus, and the price becomes that host's price. Kling can stay on Kling's unit table, with the hard limit that the packages checked that day do not include 4.0.
The expensive mistake is to treat "about the same per second" as a plan. fal's rough Seedance 2.5 price at 720p is $0.5676 a second. Official Kling 3.0 Turbo at 1080p with native audio is $0.14 a second. Those two numbers are real, and they are not a bake-off. One is a rough fal figure at 720p with audio included. The other is an official 1080p cell that already includes native audio and does not include a pack discount. Runway's derived Seedance 2.5 output at 720p is $0.30 a second before input video. Runway's derived Kling 3.0 standard with audio is $0.13 a second. Dreamina's banner floor was "Seedance 2.5 from $0.04/sec" above Basic, Standard, and Advanced, and "from $0.05/sec" above Ultra, as a starting rate, not a full resolution table. CapCut's first-month floor was $0.12. Higgsfield's Kling 3.0 example was about 7 credits per 5 seconds, and the dollar value of a Higgsfield credit depends on the plan that bought it. A reader who averages those figures has built a price nobody charges.
Duration changes the job, not just the invoice. A 15-second Kling fal request can hold a hook. A 30-second Seedance 2.5 request can hold a short scene with generated sound. Neither request is a faceless episode. Captions are not an output field on the schemas that were read. The faceless path still generates the shot in one of these families, or in Runway, and assembles in CapCut. The long-to-short path does not start here. Neither model ingests a one-hour source and returns chapters. Kling names video extension as an API feature. A maximum extend length was not in the price JSON.
Multi-shot is the other non-price split. If your prompt is one mood and one camera, Seedance 2.5's single prompt is enough, and you should not cite multi-shot for that version. If your prompt is a list of shots with an exclusive-or against the single prompt, Kling's fal field is the one that was parsed. Seedance 2.0's "multi-shot editing" blurb can justify a 2.0 test. It cannot be pasted onto the 2.5 US schema. The vendor sample on Seedance 2.5 even asks for a cut, from an octopus finding a football to an octopus football game. Whether 2.5 honors that cut was not measured. Cite the sample as a vendor prompt, not as a result this directory rendered.
Commercial use and version names need the same discipline. Kling Basic at $0 is not a license to run ads. Paid membership cards say commercial use, watermark removal, and 1080p or 4K. Dreamina's commercial line is conditional. Kling 4.0 can be the reason someone subscribes on the web and the reason an API job fails, because the package note and the membership lead were different sentences on the same day. The model page refuses an early-access spec, a 30-second API claim, and a credit rate for 4.0. This compare refuses them too. Membership credit burn for 3.0 versus 4.0 was not re-opened on the model pass. The tool page is the note for plan dollars. An app credit and an API unit remain different words.
A practical test is two short vertical requests, not a blended average. On Seedance, call the fal US 2.5 text endpoint, or the Runway credit row, at 720p and 9:16, with audio on, for a length inside 4 to 30 seconds, and record the host's own estimate before you submit. On Kling, call fal 3 Pro or the official 1080p Turbo row, set 9:16 where the schema has an aspect enum, decide whether voice control is worth fal's $0.196, and do not send both prompt and multi_prompt. Keep Dreamina, CapCut, Higgsfield, and the Kling membership out of that test unless the wallet you will actually pay is one of those. Then caption the winner in CapCut. The family that wins on a single 720p take is not a contract for 1080p, for 4K, or for a month of rejected generations.
When to pick each
Pick Seedance when the brief is one clip from 4 to 30 seconds, 9:16 is an enum you can set on the endpoint you call, and you want fal's "audio does not change the price" sentence. Stay at 720p until the 1080p figure is the budget you meant. Pick the Seedance tool when you want Dreamina's official consumer card and you can pay the renewal after the first-month offer. Pick CapCut when Seedance is a cutaway inside an edit you already know, and quote the first-month rate as a first-month rate.
Pick Kling when you need multi_prompt, a priced silent-versus-audio choice, motion control, or the official 4K cell. Pick the Kling tool when a person will click Generate on the renewal price, or when a server will buy 180-day units and stay on 3.0, 3.0 Turbo, or 3.0 Omni. Do not buy the membership to unlock 4.0 on the API. That unlock was not on the package note.
Pick Runway when Kling and Seedance should share a developer credit at $0.01, and when you will read the model id in the response so a router does not bill Gen-4.5 by accident. Pick Higgsfield when you want both families in one studio credit and you accept tilde rates plus a plan price. Starter, at $19 a month billed annually for 270 credits on 2026-10-16, is the Seedance 2.0 Fast and Mini card, not the "all models" card. Plus is the first individual plan that said all Seedance models.
Pick HeyGen when the deliverable is a hosted presenter. Kling's Avatar row is a different meter. Seedance is a world and shot model. A lipsync tag on the fal 2.5 card is not a face-consistency guarantee.
Related workflows
Faceless is the path these families are for. The recommended visual step names Kling, Seedance, or Runway, then CapCut for edit and captions, and ElevenLabs when the generated voice is the wrong speaker. Seedance 2.5's 30-second enum and Kling's 3-to-15-second fal enum both fit a b-roll beat. They do not replace the script.
UGC ads uses a product-led actor tool as the default, not a raw prompt. Kling's image-to-video and motion-control rows are the productized ad routes on the official card. Higgsfield's Seedance 2.5 image-to-video schema supports a start frame and an optional end frame. A talking founder is still HeyGen. Creatify remains the template system when the job is a UGC structure rather than a single shot.
Long-to-short and captions and covers start after a source exists. Use Seedance or Kling to rebuild a beat, then cut and type in CapCut. Safe-area margins were not observed on the generation schemas.
AI avatar is the wrong primary slug for either family. Kling's priced Avatar row can be a test. It does not replace HeyGen's translation table or stored MCP URL. Voice and publish is the voice layer when you turn generation audio off.
FAQ
Does Seedance audio cost extra?
On the fal US Seedance 2.5 text-to-video card checked 2026-10-16, fal says the cost is the same whether audio is generated or not. Runway's Seedance 2.5 cells say reference audio is free and still bill output seconds plus input-video seconds. Kling does charge for the audio mode. Official 3.0 and fal 3 Pro both print a higher per-second figure when audio is on, and fal prints a third figure for voice control.
Can I generate 30 seconds of Kling 4.0 on the API?
Not observed as a priced API row. The developer pricing HTML saved on 2026-10-16 prices Kling 3.0, 3.0 Turbo, and 3.0 Omni. It does not contain a 4.0 row, and the tool page says the API packages do not support Kling 4.0. The membership page advertised Kling 4.0, including a native 30-second phrase in the product description. That phrase is not an API duration spec this compare will quote as a rate. fal's priced Kling 3 Pro enum stops at 15 seconds.
Are Dreamina credits, CapCut credits, and Kling credits interchangeable?
No. Dreamina's renewal prices and 10-second video estimates were checked on 2026-10-16 and belong to Dreamina. CapCut's 1,200 and 8,645 monthly AI credits, and its first-month per-second floors, belong to CapCut. Kling membership credits renew at the second price on each card and do not buy API units. Kling API units cost $0.14 at list, or $0.126 on the discounted packs the tool page copied. fal dollars, Runway's $0.01 credits, and Higgsfield plan credits are three more wallets.
Which multi-shot claim is safe?
Safe: fal's Seedance 2.0 overview says multi-shot editing, and fal's Kling 3 Pro schema has multi_prompt plus shot_type. Unsafe: a Seedance 2.5 per-shot prompt field, a numeric shot cap on Kling, and any Kling 4.0 multi-shot spec. The 2.5 US text schema did not include multi_prompt. Kling's maximum shot count was not stated. Duration of a Kling fal video is still one value from 3 through 15 seconds even when the prompt is split.
Which host is cheaper for a 10-second vertical clip?
There is no single cheaper host until you name the resolution, the audio mode, and the wallet. A derived example from printed figures, not a sticker: 10 times fal's rough Seedance 2.5 price at 720p is about $5.68, and 10 times official Kling 3.0 Turbo at 1080p with native audio is $1.40 at list. Those are different resolutions and different vendors' units. Runway's derived output-only Seedance 2.5 price at 720p is $0.30 a second before the input-video adder and the 80-credit minimum. Recompute on the card you will call. Failed generations were not given a dollar rule in the extracted Kling video table. Higgsfield says failed and nsfw results are not charged, on the billing chapter cited from the Higgsfield model page, and that rule is Higgsfield's account, not fal's.
