Kling is Kuaishou's video generation product. Creators meet it twice: as a membership on the Kling web app, and as a prepaid API sold in units. The two prices do not convert into each other. A Shorts or TikTok workflow that generates shots by hand should read the membership card. A pipeline that calls text-to-video from code should read the developer price list. This page keeps them apart. It does not borrow a third-party "credits per second" article and call that Kling's price.

The membership page opened on 2026-10-16 was kling.ai/app/membership/membership-plan. A countdown was visible, and the monthly cards were labeled as a first-purchase discount. Treat the first-month sticker as promotional. The API page opened the same day was kling.ai/dev/pricing. Its packages say they currently do not support Kling 4.0, while the membership page advertises Kling 4.0. That split is the most important fact on this entry.

Who it's for

Kling fits a faceless channel that wants a native video model with audio, motion control, and an avatar mode, and is willing to learn a credit system that is not CapCut's. A YouTube creator generating b-roll, a TikTok editor who needs 1080p or 4K generations, and a small shop that wants product video through the API's e-commerce solutions are the readers. The membership page says paid plans include commercial use of generated content. The same comparison says Basic generated content is not for commercial use. Do not run ads from a $0 account.

It is a weaker fit if the job is burned-in captions and a vertical timeline. Finish that in CapCut. It is a weaker fit if the job is a library of stock presenters reading a URL. That is HeyGen or Creatify. It is a reasonable comparison when you might generate the same prompt on Seedance instead. Dreamina's plan is Seedance. Runway and Higgsfield also expose Kling models inside their own credits, at their own rates. Those rates are not this page.

Teams that only need a key should skip the membership debate and price the API unit. Creators who click Generate in a browser should ignore the API unit until they automate.

What it does

The developer page says the video API supports text-to-video, image-to-video, multi-image-to-video, multi-element video editing, video extension, avatar, lip sync, video effects, text-to-audio, and video-to-audio. The membership page describes Kling 4.0 as supporting dynamic motion, Omni reference, native 30-second generation, and multiple keyframes. It describes Kling 3.0 and 3.0 Omni as synchronized audio-video generation with storyboarding and element reference. It lists motion control as recreating movement and facial expression from motion capture. Those sentences are the product's own descriptions, checked on 2026-10-16, not an independent lab test.

Image generation is a separate API catalog: text-to-image, image-to-image, multi-image reference, outpainting, and image recognition. The membership comparison also lists 4K image generation, image upscaling, and element-creation quantities. A full duration cap for every model on the web app was not observed beyond the 30-second phrase attached to the Kling 4.0 blurb.

Pricing tiers

Two ladders, both verified on 2026-10-16. They are not interchangeable.

Web membership

The monthly cards showed a struck price, a first-month price, and a renewal price. The page said the first-purchase offer is available once and that monthly subscription can be canceled. A countdown was on the page, so this discount may leave. Yearly dollar amounts were not observed on the monthly render that was read. Do not import a yearly price from another screenshot.

Plan First month, then renewal Credits printed on the card First-month price per 100 credits
Basic $0 A monthly grant was not in the credit row, which starts at 660 not observed
Standard $6.99, then $8.80/month (struck $10) 660 / month $1.06
Pro $25.99, then $32.56/month (struck $37) 3,000 / month $0.87
Premier $64.99, then $80.96/month (struck $92) 8,000 / month $0.81
Ultra $127.99, then $159.99/month (struck $180) 26,000 / month $0.49

The per-100-credit figures line up with the first-month price, not the renewal price. Standard is 660 credits for $6.99, which is about $1.06 per 100 credits. Premier is 8,000 credits for $64.99, about $0.81 per 100. Ultra is 26,000 credits for $127.99, about $0.49 per 100. After renewal, the same grant costs more per credit. Budget the renewal column.

The monthly cards checked on 2026-10-16 show one credit grant per plan. They do not show a Premier selector at 18,000 credits for $135, and they do not show a plan named Ultra+. Earlier drafts of this entry used those figures. They are not the public membership card.

The comparison table, read in column order Basic, Standard, Pro, Premier, Ultra, listed element-creation quantities of 30, 50, 150, 150, and 500, and max videos per generation of 1, 4, 4, 4, and 4. Paid cards list a fast queue, 1080p/4K video, brand watermark removal, and commercial use. Pro and above add priority access to new features and a limited-time 10 percent off Kling 4.0. The Ultra column adds a beta-test invite "if applicable." Daily free credits for subscribers are named as a benefit. The daily amount was not observed.

Developer API

Video list price: 1 unit = $0.14. Packages are prepaid, valid 180 days, with no rollover or extension, and 20 concurrency. The page says these plans currently do not support Kling 4.0.

Package Price Units Unit price
Standard 1 $700 5,000 $0.14
Standard 2 $2,100 15,000 $0.14
Standard 3 $3,780 (struck $4,200) 30,000 $0.126
Standard 4 $5,670 (struck $6,300) 45,000 $0.126
Standard 5 $7,560 (struck $8,400) 60,000 $0.126

Flagship video rates at the $0.14 list price:

Model 720p 1080p 4K
Kling 3.0 Turbo, with native audio 0.8 unit ($0.112)/s 1.0 unit ($0.14)/s not offered on the row
Kling 3.0, no native audio 0.6 unit ($0.084)/s 0.8 unit ($0.112)/s 3.0 units ($0.42)/s
Kling 3.0, native audio, no voice control 0.9 unit ($0.126)/s 1.2 units ($0.168)/s 3.0 units ($0.42)/s
Kling 3.0 Omni, no video input, no native audio 0.6 unit ($0.084)/s 0.8 unit ($0.112)/s 3.0 units ($0.42)/s
Kling 3.0 Omni, no video input, with native audio 0.8 unit ($0.112)/s 1.0 unit ($0.14)/s 3.0 units ($0.42)/s
Kling 3.0 Omni, with video input, no native audio 0.9 unit ($0.126)/s 1.2 units ($0.168)/s 3.0 units ($0.42)/s

Motion Control is 0.9 unit ($0.126) per second at 720p and 1.2 units ($0.168) per second at 1080p. Avatar is 0.4 unit ($0.056) per second at 720p and 0.8 unit ($0.112) per second at 1080p. Effects pricing varies by template. The effects list URL was linked from the page and was not opened, so template prices are not observed.

Image API list price: 1 unit = $0.0035. Packages run $350 for 100,000 units, $1,050 for 300,000, then discounted packs at $0.00315 per unit ($1,890 struck $2,100 for 600,000; $3,780 struck $4,200 for 1,200,000; $5,670 struck $6,300 for 1,800,000). Image packages are 180 days, no rollover, 9 concurrency, and the page again says they do not support Kling 4.0. Kling Image 3.0 and Kling Image O1 are 8 units ($0.028) per image at 1K or 2K. Kling Image 3.0 Omni is 8 units at 1K or 2K and 16 units ($0.056) at 4K. Kling Image 2.1 is 4 units ($0.014) for text-to-image at 1K or 2K, and 8 units for image-to-image.

E-commerce API rows, same $0.14 video unit, included AI Apparel Replicator, Goods Studio, and Video Commerce, with per-second rates from 1.0 unit ($0.14) to 2.0 units ($0.28) depending on the mode and resolution. 4K was not offered on those rows. Quote the row you call. Do not average them.

Pros

  • Membership and API are published by Kling, so a directory can cite both without a reseller.
  • The API prints unit price and dollar price on the same cell, which makes a 5-second 1080p Turbo clip arithmetic instead of a guess: 5 seconds times $0.14.
  • Paid membership cards state commercial use, watermark removal, and 1080p/4K in writing.
  • Avatar, lip sync, and motion control are separate billable lines, so a talking-head test does not have to be priced as a full Kling 3.0 shot.
  • Larger API packs discount the unit from $0.14 to $0.126, and the struck price is shown next to the sale price.

Cons

  • The membership page was mid-promotion, with a countdown and a one-time first-month discount. The renewal prices are the durable ones. Premier renews at $80.96, not $64.99. Ultra renews at $159.99, not $127.99.
  • API packages do not include Kling 4.0. Anyone who subscribed because the membership page leads with 4.0 cannot assume the API key generates 4.0.
  • Basic is $0 and the comparison says that output is not for commercial use. Paid commercial use does not transfer backward onto the free plan.
  • No official MCP server URL was observed. Agents that can call Higgsfield, Runway, HeyGen, or Creatify over MCP cannot add a documented Kling server from this check.
  • The free Basic credit count was not in the credit row. Daily subscriber bonus credits are named without a number.
  • Web credits and API units are different meters. Spending 660 membership credits does not buy API units.

Usage flow

  1. Decide whether a person clicks Generate or a server calls the API. Buy the membership or the unit pack for that path only.
  2. For browser work, subscribe at the renewal price you can keep, and generate on the model the card actually discounts. For API work, price the flagship row, including audio, before you buy a 180-day pack that does not roll over.
  3. Cut, caption, and reframe the file in CapCut. Kling's pricing pages do not describe a short-form subtitle timeline.

Workflow usage

On the faceless workflow (faceless), Kling is the shot generator. A channel can stay inside the membership if a person is prompting, or move to the API if the same prompt runs on a schedule. Ten seconds of Kling 3.0 Turbo at 1080p with native audio is 10 units on the list price, which is $1.40 before any pack discount. That is a planning example from the rate card, not a promise about how many takes you will reject.

On the UGC-ad workflow (ugc-ads), the e-commerce API rows are the relevant Kling surface: apparel, goods, and video-commerce voiceover. They are still API units, not membership credits. A creator who wants a stock avatar and a product URL in one button should compare Creatify before building that flow on Kling's lower-level API. This site does not yet publish a live page at /workflow/ugc-ads. The slug is the planning label.

Underlying models

The membership page names Kling 4.0, Kling 3.0, Kling 3.0 Omni, native 4K, and motion control. The API flagship table names Kling 3.0 Turbo, Kling 3.0, and Kling 3.0 Omni, plus image models Kling Image 3.0, 3.0 Omni, O1, and 2.1. Older generation names that were not on these two pages are not observed here and are not given prices. Kling 4.0's API unit price is not observed, because the package note says current plans do not support it.

API and MCP

The API exists. Pricing and the capability list were checked at kling.ai/dev/pricing on 2026-10-16. A request base URL and header name were not observed on that pricing page, so this entry does not invent an auth scheme. Buy units in the API console the page links. An official remote MCP URL was not observed. If an agent needs MCP today, call Kling through a host that documents it, such as Runway or Higgsfield, and pay that host's rate.

Similar tools

  • Seedance is the ByteDance model family via Dreamina. It did not show a public API on the same day.
  • Runway lists Kling 3.0 on its own API credit table, at Runway's $0.01 credit, which is a different meter from Kling's $0.14 unit.
  • Higgsfield includes Kling models in a multi-model subscription and publishes an MCP server. The credit burn is Higgsfield's.
  • CapCut is the editor to finish Kling footage for TikTok and Shorts. It is not a Kling API.

FAQ

Are membership credits the same as API units?

No. Membership credits are the web plan's monthly grant. API units are a prepaid 180-day balance at $0.14 list, or $0.126 on the larger packs. They do not roll into each other.

Can I generate Kling 4.0 on the API?

Not on the packages checked on 2026-10-16. The video and image package notes both say the plans currently do not support Kling 4.0. The membership page does advertise Kling 4.0, including a limited-time 10 percent credit discount on higher tiers.

Does Kling have an official MCP server?

Not observed on 2026-10-16. The developer surface that was verified is the HTTP API pricing page, not a Model Context Protocol endpoint.

How many credits does Premier include?

8,000 per month on the membership card checked on 2026-10-16, at $64.99 for the first month and $80.96 after. Ultra is a separate plan at 26,000 credits, $127.99 then $159.99. A card that showed Premier at $135 for 18,000 credits was not the public page on this date.
